Hippodrome Theater, Baltimore
NOTE: All volunteer positions are currently filled but they are
forming a wait list
In
February 2004 the curtain rose on the Hippodrome Theatre at the
France-Merrick Performing Arts Center. You can be part of the
excitement! The Hippodrome Foundation is looking for enthusiastic
people to become volunteer ushers. As a volunteer, you will have an
opportunity to meet many new & exciting people, as well as see the
hottest touring attractions today, such as Broadway shows, plays,
concerts, comedians and more!
Our volunteers
provide invaluable front-of-house services by assisting patrons to
their seats, ticket-taking, answering questions, and most
importantly, creating a pleasant and welcoming environment for the
patrons. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to support other
Foundation activities by serving as docents for theatre tours and/or
participating in education and arts outreach programs.
Volunteers are
admitted to the program following an orientation session, during
which theatre policies and procedures will be thoroughly reviewed
and explained. Tours of the theatre and distribution of the
volunteer manual will also occur at the orientation class.
It is with the
support and efforts of the volunteers that the Hippodrome Theatre at
the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center will thrive as the
premiere Mid-Atlantic performing arts venue. The management and
staff of the Hippodrome Foundation and the France-Merrick Performing
Arts Center thank you for your interest and your generous donation
of time.
If you are
interested in becoming a volunteer for the Hippodrome Theatre,
please call the Volunteer Services Line at 410-752-2922. Please
leave your name, mailing address and a phone number where you may be
reached. You will be contacted once the dates for the orientation
classes have been set. For Additional
