Volunteers needed to teach English as a Second Language
and basic computer literacy for Howard County's Project
Literacy.Howard County Library's Project Literacy provides adults
with free assistance and support to improve their reading, writing,
and basic math skills. Since 1987, Project Literacy has taught
nearly 3,000 adults. In addition, 120 students have received their
high school diplomas and more than 100 have become U.S. citizens.
Ninety-two percent of Project Literacy students are foreign-born,
coming from 38 different countries. Please contact Emma Ostendorf
