Oberammergau Passion Play 2010:
In 1634 when the 30-Years War was raging, famine
was rampant, and countless people were dying
of the plague, the little town of
Oberammergau in Bavaria, Germany, made a
promise to God that they would perform the
“play of the suffering, death and
resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ” every
10 years if they were spared extinction.
This year will be the 41st time that the
2,000 people of Oberammergau will act out
the story of Jesus of Nazareth in a 5-hour
show on an impressive open-air stage with
the sky and mountains as the back drop.
While this performance and town visit is a
focus of the trip, you would also tour other
parts of Germany and neighboring countries.
Based on your responses we are offering two separate
